Interview with Ilango Ram, director and screenwriter of the movie Tentigo, interviewer Malaika Bova
"Ram is a filmmaker from Sri Lanka who wants to create films that talk about his people and their emotions. He wants his films to represent the culture of Sri Lanka while conveying universal meanings and ideas.
Ventigo is a satirical comedy about funeral traditions. One fateful night the patriarch of a nice family dies suddenly in front of the TV. Before he took his last breath, he experienced something truly romantic, and the most sensitive part of his dead body still works without a pulse or blood pressure. His two grown sons and grieving mother are eager to put down the standing limb to avoid embarrassing reactions at the funeral.
Having worked for over two years on a very serious script, Ram realised he didn't want that one to be his first film, since it needed more time and research. He wanted to try to do something more simple and to do it in a very quick pace. He then he came up with the plot for Tentigo.
