An interview with Grazia Tricarico, the director of "Body Odyssey", interviewer Triin Tramberg.
"The human body – with its beauty and horror – has long fascinated director Grazia Tricarico.
In her short film ""Persefone,"" released in 2014, one of the main characters is an inanimate body. To avoid the clichés and premature assumptions associated with this theme, the director embarked on a dark expedition. She read studies, confessions, essays on the subject of necrophilia, and visited dark internet forums.
In her first feature-length film, ""Body Odyssey,"" the director once again examines the human relationship with the body. The film has two main characters: 45-year-old bodybuilder Mona and her best companion, her greatest creation, and her most cunning foe - her own physical body. Where is the line between the creator and the creation in Mona’s case?
“I want to share with the audience the same questions that I have – what is femininity and what is beauty, and why are we so square about it,” said Tricarico in an interview with Triin Tramberg.
