Interview with Kim Jin-young, the director of „The Other Child“

Overcome by the loss of their oldest son Han-byul, a deeply religious couple decide to adopt a visually impaired boy to share the love they still hold in their wounded hearts. The adopted boy, Isaac, has an acute sense and begins to notice another presence in the house, that of a boy who died a year ago. Secrets unveil and chaos ensues as the mother tries to communicate with her lost child.
Director Kim Jin-young has made two short films, "Heredity of Taste" (2009) and "Believe in Me" (2010), the latter of which won the Best Short Film Award in the Seoul International Film Festival. She has also written the novel "Lies Hidden in My Backyard".
