Interview with Tiziano Russo, director of the movie Supernova, interviewer Lennart Mathias Männik
"Tiziano Russo is an Italian filmmaker. He just finished filming the fifth season of SKAM Italia for Netflix and was its sole director. The sixth season of the series is also coming next year. The series also features bilingual actor Rocco Fasano, who also stars in Supernova. In the past, Russo has shone as a director of short films, documentaries, music videos and commercials.
""Supernova"" tells the story of 17-year-old Elsa, whose world changes completely when it turns out that she has cancer. Elsa urgently needs a bone marrow transplant, but the only suitable donor is someone she hasn't heard from in years, her father with a dark past. Fortunately, there is Edo, a sociable and funny young man in the hospital, who makes Elsa forget everything bad. It is he who convinces Elsa to escape from the hospital in the middle of the night. A journey to see the world and find her father awaits.
Russo says that Supernova is not a film about cancer, but instead about family and relationships. He adds that he doesn't like ""drama"" but rather simplicity.
