Interview with the director Ben Parker and the leading actress Charlotte Vega of “Burial”, interviewer Dhanushka Gunathilake.
"When I read the script I put together a lookbook of what I wanted the film to be and it's interesting that a large part of that was about Putin, the horrible nature of that dictatorship and the fact that when you bury the truth, things can get out of hand."
In the last days of WWII a small group of Russian soldiers and their officer Brana are given the important task – to take the remains of Hitler back to Stalin in Russia. However, their expedition is disturbed by German partisans ‘Werwolf’ who attaked them and cut them away one-by-one. And so begins their last battle against those who want the remains in their hands in order to hide the truth until the end of the days.
With the film “Burial” Ben wants to tell the story of of women playing a part in fighting in the war, as well – that’s what inspired Charlotte to the the role of the female officer leading a group of male soldiers. Another WWII story is always captivating since it tells a story from the point of view of those who have lived through it.
