“Animation is a very unique and magical tool to work with the documentaries, because you are not only restoring the events, but also have your artistic touch to it.” - Inna Sahakyan
In her third feature film, Inna Sahakyan courageously continues the riveting mission of Aurora Mardiganian to remind us about the Armenian Genocide and the shameful crimes of the Ottoman Empire, which many people prefer not to hear about. Animation was the only possible magic for restoring Aurora’s journey of survival, adding interviews with the elderly Aurora and luckily rediscovered frames from “Auction of Souls”.
Inna Sahakyan has more than 15 years of experience of working in the film-industry in Armenia. She has been working as a producer and director at Bars Media Documentary Film Studio since 2003. As assistant director, she collaborated on the multi-award winning documentary "A Story of People in War and Peace". Inna directed the documentary "The Last Tightrope Dancer in Armenia", an international co-production.
