An interview with Joel Ippolito, the star of "Stars", interviewer Helena Maarja Tarro
A film full of music, dance and love. In the spirit of "Italy's Got Talent" the film takes us to a boarding school for young musicians, where the ruthlessness of the music world demands the best from every participant. To achieve success they have to decide whether to sacrifice love to achieve success.
Joel Ippolito has previously worked behind the camera as aproducer, but “Stars” is his first experience as an actor, dancer and even as a singer. Anna Spacio is a Swiss director who has been active for only a few years, yet her short films have been successful. "Stars" is her first full-length feature film, with an idea that actually came from the Swiss-Italian singer, film producer, and composer Paolo Meneguzzi, drawing inspiration from his own 20 years of experience in the entertainment industry and work at the Ticino POP music school. Although the whole team was very young, the collaboration went smoothly and thanks to the experience of the film, Ippolito decided to go into further studies in acting and dance.
“[The process of filming] was really difficult, every day it was 10 hours of dancing and acting.”
