Interview with Ryuichi Mino, the director of the film “Ginji The Speculator”, interviewer Edvinas Pukšta
"We wanted to attract all generations, the old as well as the younger
generations." - Ryuichi Mino
Stylish and entertaining samurai movie, without any of the bloody scenes. A story about an innocent fatherless country boy Ginji who is persuaded to join the 1790s Japanese village’s turbulent business and bargaining world. He quickly picks up the tricks and ways of lifelong businessmen and feels comfortable in those murky waters.
Ryuichi Mino graduated from the Kyoto University of the Arts Department of Film, and later accumulated experience by working on the sets of film and television dramas as an assistant director. He then invited his younger brother Kazuhiko Mino into the film industry and together they established the film production team MINO Bros.
Ryuichi Mino is back in Tallinn for the second year running, after "Make The Devil Laugh" featured in the Official Selection in PÖFF 25.
