An interview with Ivan Marinovic, the director of "Forever Hold Your Peace", interviewer Edvinas Pukšta
"As is the Montenegrin way, director Ivan Marinovic shows us a dramatisation of a long-standing wedding tradition, with plenty of guns included. What is particularly important, he says, is that the weapons - whether real or imitation - are truly loud. It is custom to celebrate a wedding, the birth of a child and, of course, this comedic tale with the banging of guns. Two days before the wedding, the bride, Dragana, doubts whether she even wants to get married. To take matters more complicated, her future father-in-law pressures her to ensure the event takes place. However, this wedding won't happen without its fair share of mishaps. As is customary for Montenegrins, they find something fun in every misfortune, selfishness, alcoholism, and everything else. This is precisely what Ivan Marinovic, who has narrated the story in a comedic tone, does. Whether it's drunken jokes or indiscreet affairs, one thing's for sure - it won't be boring!
Director Marinovic of the film ""Forever Hold Your Peace"" has mentioned that when making comedy films, he prefers to make the audience laugh while feeling a sense of unease and discomfort. This, to him, indicates that the characters in the story genuinely resonate with the audience. Besides its unique nature, the film also features many renowed Balkan actors, including Tihana Lazovic, Goran Bogdan, Goran Slavic, and others who could catch the attention of film entusiasts.
