Lively Vietnamese action movie that has been nominated for this year’ s Oscar for the Best International Film. Truck driver Hùng is living a calm and idyllic life with his daughter An. When An has to leave for school, Hùng finds out that she is suffering r serious depression caused by a traumatic kidnapping and assault. The only way forward is revenge. He has to face the psychotic powers from the underground world where there is no room for mercy.
Dung Luong Dinh started writing poems and short stories at the age of 12. From 1989 to1996 he worked as a gold miner, a red ruby digger and a kung fu master and also published his first novel "The Ownerless Girls". “578 Magnum ” is Dung Luong Dinh’s 3rd movie to be screened at PÖFF.
