An Interview with Andrew Brand, the director of "Buzz", interviewer Kseniia Buzhbetska
"Andrew Brand is a director and writer from the UK, with over 20 years of experience as a filmmaker. After graduating from Nottingham Trent university with a degree in Fine Arts, specializing in Video Installation he has spent his life working all kinds of movies, both live action and animation. Lately he has been stepping away from live action fiction directing, because he felt it encompassed too much chasing of the finance part of things, for only a small window of creativity. The short film ""Buzz"" was made in collaboration with awarded director Bryn Rhys Chainey, and is sure to be an immersive and curiosity-enhancing experience, both for the little ones as well as grown ups. Because of the lack of funding, Brand animated the whole film by himself, which ended up taking about 8 months.
""[With animation] you have freedom to do anything, like make bees on Mars""
Millions of miles from home, a space farmer is having trouble with one of his hive. Unale to reprogram a mischevious robot bee called Buzz, he follows the bug into a volcano crater. This leads him to discover something, that might change life on Mars forever.
